Why you should Rent your Meeting Space

Meeting Space Rent

It’s a fact of life (or a fact of business) that you’ll eventually have to have meetings. One-on-One, group meetings, team meetings, etc. You name them, they’ll have to meet at some point. Have you considered renting that meeting space?

So when you’re finding a space for those meetings to occur, it is often a corner of the office somewhere, where everyone has to bring their chairs and scoot over. Just making what might already be an uncomfortable space, even more so.

Maybe you’re one of the lucky ones that has their own proper meeting space. But of course, owning space is very different from renting it.

For one, you have to maintain it. It can be costly to maintain a meeting room up to standard. Of course when it’s just your team, a little mess can be expected; some markers laying around, a used whiteboard, some leftover snacks.

But then if you want to bring a new client into that space, you’ll have to make sure it’s all clean and tidy. And your staff, as great as they may be, are busy making sure the business runs. They don’t have time to clean up every speck of dirt. Which then means you need to hire a cleaning crew, or extend the current crew’s service into the meeting room. But that brings potential reservations over confidential information…

And that isn’t even mentioning the cost of maintenance. What if the chairs break? Or the meeting table is damaged? The TV on the wall starts displaying static?

It’s just a whole cycle of never ending issues.

And of course, think about the opportunity cost. Space is expensive, especially in large cities. You already pay a significant amount for rent, and having enough space for your employees to actually do their job, do you really want to have to worry about paying rent for a room that will be sitting empty most of the time?

Unless your meeting space is doubling as your break room (which it really shouldn’t be), then it’s actual wasted space, and wasted money.

For those who are looking to cut some costs on their rent, and have a top notch, clean, and well stocked room, you should consider renting your meeting space from The Rostie Group. Free Wi-Fi, full technical support, videoconferencing, and delicious catering are all available.

The Oxford Way

Back in September 2017, Oxford Properties conducted a customer satisfaction and loyalty survey. Many clients took the time to let Oxford know whether they were meeting or exceeding service expectations. To celebrate the fantastic results Oxford have created a visual representation of this commitment via “The Oxford Way” video:

We love being part of WaterPark Place!

Here’s some events they’ve held in the building over the past year:

Go Back Through Toronto’s History Thanks To Side Walk Labs

Have you ever wondered what originally stood where your condo stands now? Well now you can find out.

Earlier last week Google Sidewalk Labs revealed their project ‘Old Toronto’ (OLDTO). Inspired by web applications developed in San Francisco and New York, the website maps more than 30,000 photographs from the City of Toronto Archives. Extremely user-friendly, to use the tool all you need to do is search for a location and then browse through the archived images in that area. See below to check out what the area where our building is located originally looked like:

[envira-gallery id=”8896″]

In a statement released by Side Walk Labs they stated that they are also in the process of preparing OldTo for release as an open source tool, so local urban-tech enthusiasts can build on top of it. Engineers say they’re exploring additional features to add to the tool, including an aerial button that will “enable people to see how the city has changed from a birds-eye view”. Clicking on a photo will show any information contained in the description such as the title, date, conditions etc.

Try it out for yourself in the interactive map. (If you want to find us, we’re at 20 Bay Street)

If you’d like to work at such a historical location in Toronto, you can take a look at our available spaces.

Recap and Photos: Lunch ‘N’ Learn with Paul Hellyer

The Pacific room filled with summer sunlight and those excited to understand what Paul Hellyer’s life work means for the present and future of our society.

Engaging, educational and dotted with anecdotes Paul Hellyer took us on a history lesson, different from the kind we learned in school. Conspiracies, secret governments, global bank programs created without the public knowing, and the question of who really runs the world? And what does this mean for us?

Discussion and questions ensued about some of Hellyer’s political experience and current projects. He touched on power and the financial situation of Canada and the global understanding of wealth. Pamphlets were distributed explaining the Canadian bank system and how everything changed in 1974.  Check out CanadianBankReformers.ca for more information.

Former Canadian Cabinet Minister Paul Hellyer Lunch ‘n’ Learn.

Join The Rostie Group Work Community in celebrating the Honourable Paul T. Hellyer, former Minister of National Defence. Mr. Hellyer is a Canadian engineer, politician, writer and commentator who has had a long, successful and varied career. He is the longest serving current member of the Privy Council of Canada. Mr. Hellyer is 93 years old and still a spirited member of Canadian politics and global issues.

In early September 2005, Hellyer made headlines by publicly announcing that he believed in the existence of UFOs. The first person of cabinet rank in the G8 group of countries to state unequivocally “UFOs are as real as the airplanes flying overhead.”

Former Canadian Cabinet Minister Paul Hellyer is still as active as ever and deeply engaged in a wide variety of world issues, arguably the most urgent of which is the world monetary and financial system. Mr. Hellyer’s most recent book “The Money Mafia” (2014) exposes perceived fault lines in our banking and financial systems and explains how unemployment could be cut in half in two years and worldwide prosperity restored. Mr. Hellyer has written many books throughout his career on the world and Canadian economics, extraterrestrial life, and Canadian life.

Paul Hellyer has been a part of the Rostie work community for over fifteen years. He is also one of Canada’s best known and most controversial politicians. We welcome you in meeting Paul Hellyer and participating in an engaging discussion on the many projects and achievements of Mr. Hellyer’s career.
