Back in September 2017, Oxford Properties conducted a customer satisfaction and loyalty survey. Many clients took the time to let Oxford know whether they were meeting or exceeding service expectations. To celebrate the fantastic results Oxford have created a visual representation of this commitment via “The Oxford Way” video:
We love being part of WaterPark Place!
Here’s some events they’ve held in the building over the past year:
As we approach the New Year, it is important to reflect on personal maintenance – how we take care of ourselves, mind, body and spirit. Sometimes we get so caught up in the daily grind that we don’t take the time to focus on what’s most important; our own well-being. Life is hectic. There is a lot that can be said about our modern lifestyles and the stress that can develop in most of them. We have all experienced situations where we’ve felt overcome by everything we need to accomplish and not enough hours in a day to achieve them. We’ve all pushed ourselves too far at some point, be it for the sake of a job, a project or assignment, or even our families. Whatever lifestyle you lead, we all know it and we’ve all felt it.
The problems come when life gets too hectic for us to maintain a balance of the different areas in our lives, perhaps when we start foregoing things we do for ourselves because you need to do something for others instead. This becomes an issue when we start putting our own well being aside for longer periods of time. When we do this, and our own mental or physical health starts deteriorating, we are not being our best selves. The care we give or the work we do, suffers for it. What this essentially means is, when you are not taking proper care of yourself, you are not taking proper care of your responsibilities either.
Recognise that sometimes we must forego some things to achieve a greater goal, but this should only be acceptable for a set amount of time. Often what happens is we get to that goal, but then another task pops up, and we stretch ourselves a little thinner for a little longer. Suddenly we’re not just missing out on that visit to the gym or rain-checking a time to catch up with friends, we stop having time for dinner with the family and sleep has been reduced to 4 hours a night. When was the last time you did something enjoyable, just for the sake of your own happiness and sanity? When was the last time you put something aside to give yourself a moment of clarity?
Some people are better at handling this stress than others. It is a growing trend that some companies are better at promoting self-care than others; encouraging working from home and taking mental health days to recharge our minds. We could all use a reminder every once in a while. Your most important asset is YOU, and taking care of your most valuable asset is imperative. This coming year, take some time to reflect on your health, your priorities and set yourself up for a healthy and productive 2018.

The Pacific room filled with summer sunlight and those excited to understand what Paul Hellyer’s life work means for the present and future of our society.
Engaging, educational and dotted with anecdotes Paul Hellyer took us on a history lesson, different from the kind we learned in school. Conspiracies, secret governments, global bank programs created without the public knowing, and the question of who really runs the world? And what does this mean for us?
Discussion and questions ensued about some of Hellyer’s political experience and current projects. He touched on power and the financial situation of Canada and the global understanding of wealth. Pamphlets were distributed explaining the Canadian bank system and how everything changed in 1974. Check out CanadianBankReformers.ca for more information.
Hellyer happily wrote personal notes in his books for everyone to take home. Featured were three books, A Miracle in Waiting: Economics that Make Sense, Light at the End of the Tunnel, and his newest book Money Mafia: A World in Crisis.
For more information on Paul Hellyer, to purchase his books and to connect with him please visit http://www.paulhellyerweb.com.
The Rostie work community is grateful to have Paul Hellyer as an influential part of the community. Thank you Mr. Hellyer for sharing with us and thank you to everyone who came out to the Lunch ‘N’ Learn. Join The Rostie Group Work Community in celebrating the Honourable Paul T. Hellyer, former Minister of National Defence. Mr. Hellyer is a Canadian engineer, politician, writer and commentator who has had a long, successful and varied career. He is the longest serving current member of the Privy Council of Canada. Mr. Hellyer is 93 years old and still a spirited member of Canadian politics and global issues.
In early September 2005, Hellyer made headlines by publicly announcing that he believed in the existence of UFOs. The first person of cabinet rank in the G8 group of countries to state unequivocally “UFOs are as real as the airplanes flying overhead.”
Former Canadian Cabinet Minister Paul Hellyer is still as active as ever and deeply engaged in a wide variety of world issues, arguably the most urgent of which is the world monetary and financial system. Mr. Hellyer’s most recent book “The Money Mafia” (2014) exposes perceived fault lines in our banking and financial systems and explains how unemployment could be cut in half in two years and worldwide prosperity restored. Mr. Hellyer has written many books throughout his career on the world and Canadian economics, extraterrestrial life, and Canadian life.
Paul Hellyer has been a part of the Rostie work community for over fifteen years. He is also one of Canada’s best known and most controversial politicians. We welcome you in meeting Paul Hellyer and participating in an engaging discussion on the many projects and achievements of Mr. Hellyer’s career. Come out to our friendly Lunch ‘n’ Learn featuring Paul Hellyer on Tuesday August 30th, 2016 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Find out more about Mr. Hellyer’s fascinating and influential life and what his work means for our future.
