Renting Class Space in Toronto

Class Space

The class’ focus is one of the most important aspects when running a session with an audience. Just as any seasoned professor can tell you, it can be difficult to get the attention you need. In a way, that’s really up to the class members; they paid for the course. If they choose not to pay attention, then that’s their choice. However, that isn’t exactly conducive to the long term feasibility of a course. If the class attendees feel like they got nothing from the session, and if they feel their time was wasted, they’ll share that, and your class will suffer.

One of the main ways to get a class to focus is to provide them with a good environment. From the youngest children, to the most adult person, we all need a comfortable environment to learn in. So your main effort should be in finding and selecting an environment to run your session. It has to be an open space, capable of holding all your attendees comfortably, and be conducive to learning.

It also has to be decked out with the best tech. You carry your class with you; presentations, materials, etc. Nothing could be worse than entering a room and start to setup for your session, and the screen is of poor quality (or non-existent), There are no plugs for laptops, or everyone has to huddle somewhere to see and hear your presentation. It just hurts the overall focus in the room, leading to an inferior experience.

With The Rostie Group, you will always have the best class experience. Our rooms have multiple screens and full video conference available, so you can run your session from anywhere in the world! We can accommodate any group size. But if you need more space, our rooms can be linked by video, the next best thing to being in two places at once!

Take a look at our room selection, and choose the best fit to make your class a success!jvieir

The Oxford Way

Back in September 2017, Oxford Properties conducted a customer satisfaction and loyalty survey. Many clients took the time to let Oxford know whether they were meeting or exceeding service expectations. To celebrate the fantastic results Oxford have created a visual representation of this commitment via “The Oxford Way” video:

We love being part of WaterPark Place!

Here’s some events they’ve held in the building over the past year:

Spotlight: Self-care

As we approach the New Year, it is important to reflect on personal maintenance – how we take care of ourselves, mind, body and spirit. Sometimes we get so caught up in the daily grind that we don’t take the time to focus on what’s most important; our own well-being. Life is hectic. There is a lot that can be said about our modern lifestyles and the stress that can develop in most of them. We have all experienced situations where we’ve felt overcome by everything we need to accomplish and not enough hours in a day to achieve them. We’ve all pushed ourselves too far at some point, be it for the sake of a job, a project or assignment, or even our families. Whatever lifestyle you lead, we all know it and we’ve all felt it.

The problems come when life gets too hectic for us to maintain a balance of the different areas in our lives, perhaps when we start foregoing things we do for ourselves because you need to do something for others instead. This becomes an issue when we start putting our own well being aside for longer periods of time. When we do this, and our own mental or physical health starts deteriorating, we are not being our best selves. The care we give or the work we do, suffers for it. What this essentially means is, when you are not taking proper care of yourself, you are not taking proper care of your responsibilities either.

Recognise that sometimes we must forego some things to achieve a greater goal, but this should only be acceptable for a set amount of time. Often what happens is we get to that goal, but then another task pops up, and we stretch ourselves a little thinner for a little longer. Suddenly we’re not just missing out on that visit to the gym or rain-checking a time to catch up with friends, we stop having time for dinner with the family and sleep has been reduced to 4 hours a night. When was the last time you did something enjoyable, just for the sake of your own happiness and sanity? When was the last time you put something aside to give yourself a moment of clarity?

Some people are better at handling this stress than others. It is a growing trend that some companies are better at promoting self-care than others; encouraging working from home and taking mental health days to recharge our minds. We could all use a reminder every once in a while. Your most important asset is YOU, and taking care of your most valuable asset is imperative. This coming year, take some time to reflect on your health, your priorities and set yourself up for a healthy and productive 2018.

Cynthia with WTC Sign

The first stop was a full tour of 4 WTC (World Trade Center) @4WTC with Mathieu Schepard, Director of Sales for Silver Suite Sales Offices @SilverSuites.  We toured their latest centre, which is a clear leader within the industry.  Mathieu also gave us the unique opportunity to see one of the few outdoor terraces in 4 WTC building, offering an incredible view of both downtown Manhattan, and One World Trade Center (formerly the Freedom Tower).

The main event on Friday, June 17th took place at  Silver Suites Executive Workspace, on the 10th floor of 7 WTC. Thank you to all the exhibitors and sponsors who helped to make the conference both more exciting and more informative.

Video Presenting Rise & Shine Breakfast Recap!

Rostie VPX group photo - June 15 2016

This morning we had the amazing opportunity to engage with thought leaders and begin to understand how Video is the way of the future for business and development!

In just under an hour, Kunle Bristow inspired everyone in the Rainy Lake room to get out of their seats and get into action. Video action that is! We learned how to create ‘the hook’ and then separated into groups to meet new people and come up with our own video intro. Oh yeah, we began the workshop by staring into each others eyes to get comfortable and realise what video is all about – connecting with people.

Thank you Kunle for coming to The Rostie Group, and thank you to everyone who attended and had an amazing start to their day!

Earth Day 2016 – April 22nd!

Join us for Earth Day at work!

Come out to 20 Bay Street, WaterPark Place Atrium and Food Court for some Earth Day education and fun! Hope to see you there!

earth day oxford

The movement continues. http://www.earthday.org/

We are now entering the 46th year of a movement that continues to inspire, challenge ideas, ignite passion, and motivate people to action.

In 1970, the year of our first Earth Day, the movement gave voice to an emerging consciousness, channeling human energy toward environmental issues. Forty-six years later, we continue to lead with groundbreaking ideas and by the power of our example.

And so it begins. Today. Right here and right now. Earth Day is more than just a single day — April 22, 2016. It’s bigger than attending a rally and taking a stand.

This Earth Day and beyond, let’s make big stuff happen. Let’s plant 7.8 billion trees for the Earth. Let’s divest from fossil fuels and make cities 100% renewable. Let’s take the momentum from the Paris Climate Summit and build on it.

Let’s start now. And let’s not stop.
