Spring is in the Air!

Hello Spring!!!

After a rainy and dark Winter, Toronto (especially Waterfront Toronto) is happy to welcome Spring 2016!

March 20th marks the official start of Spring, which means Summer on the Waterfront is just around the corner too!

With Spring, comes patio season! The Rostie Group had a great time on St Patrick’s Day at our Waterfront work community pub the WaterMark Irish Pub and we are looking forward to hitting  The Miller Tavern, our go-to spot for after work fun.

On March 19th, 2016 the Beaver Tails Pastry Restaurant opened up right on the water! This is going to be a hot and delicious spot to stop while cruising down Queens Quay this Spring. If you’ve never tried a Beaver Tail before, put this at the top of your list!

The Waterfront Artisan Market will be starting back up again soon too. This is one Market you do not want to miss! There is something for everyone, from the delicious home-made doughnuts and cookies to the vibrant hand-crafted jewellery and clothing. A weekend on the Waterfront is not complete without the Artisan Market!

One of The Rostie Group’s favourite summer events is the Redpath Waterfront Festival. The Rostie Group is proud to be a Partner and Sponsor of the Festival and we are looking forward to engaging in all the fun activities, especially the Tall Ships Challenge and taking Ship Deck Tours of the four historic ships that will be docked at the harbour! Below is the El Galeon Spanish Vessel! The Festival runs Canada Day weekend, July 1st-3rd, 2016!

Last summer The Rostie Group and friends went on the Kajama cruise around the Toronto Harbour and Toronto Islands. Below is our amazing group shot! This year we are looking forward to heading out on the water again to enjoy one of the many day and night cruises that depart from the Waterfront Harbour.

UN International Day of Happiness!

It feels good to be happy right?

Why not share the happiness at WaterPark Place this Friday and join us for some fun activities and treats in the Mezzanine and Food Court!

hapiness day @Oxford

Happiness is what we all strive for – what the media, society and every self-help book and guru out there tells us to seek.

So how do we truly reach a state of happiness and stay there?

Without the down times in life, it would be hard to enjoy the up times.

It would be very odd if we all walked around like the Stepford wives, perpetually smiling…

International Day of Happiness celebrated on March 20th,  is not about superficial and materialistic happiness but rather it is about recognizing that ‘progress’ should be about increasing human happiness and wellbeing, not just growing the economy.

“In 2011, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution which recognised happiness as a “fundamental human goal” and called for “a more inclusive, equitable and balanced approach to economic growth that promotes the happiness and well-being of all peoples”.

In 2012 the first ever UN conference on Happiness took place and the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution which decreed that the International Day of Happiness would be observed every year on 20 March. It was celebrated for the first time in 2013″.

It comes as no surprise that the number one way people describe experiencing happiness is from giving and doing things for others.
