AV Technician, Toronto, ON

Overview
The Meeting Room Equipment Technician will be responsible for managing, operating and trouble-shooting a range of audio-visual (AV) and related equipment for our conference and meeting spaces as well as Desktop Support.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
Set-up, operate, and troubleshoot all AV/projection/lighting/conferencing equipment, devices, and systems.
Oversee the set-up of AV equipment in meeting rooms.
Ensure all AV equipment is fully operational, repair or clean equipment when necessary.
Label any broken equipment and communicate problems to manager/supervisor.
Tape down and dress all loose wire and cable.
Check delivered equipment and room set-up against Meeting Room Order.
Assist and instruct guests/customers regarding proper usage and operation of AV equipment, up-sell different AV services, and monitor equipment operation at appropriate intervals. Break-down, remove, and secure equipment when not in use.
Provide Desktop Support to our employees, tenants and meeting room clients including Office365
Follow all company policies and procedures, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, and support team to reach common goals.
Reach, grasp, turn, manipulate, move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance (with use of dollies).
Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.
Assist team and/or assemble furniture (e.g., tables, chairs) according to specified floor plans and layouts.
Assist with meeting room setup, including furniture arrangement, tear-down, etc.
Stay updated on technology developments and recommend new tools or upgrades as appropriate.
Ensure new and existing technology is compatible with company systems and collaboration tools.
Required Qualifications/Skills
Professional certification in audio-visual technology or a related field (preferred)
6 months to 1 year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
DeskTop and IT Support
Microsoft Office 365
Networking skills would be a definite asset
Ability to Install, mount, and maintain AV equipment in conference rooms
Strong technical proficiency in operating and maintaining AV systems
Proven experience operating AV equipment such as microphones, projectors, video cameras, and lighting systems
Knowledge of current AV technologies, trends, and best practices
Ability to set up, configure, and support virtual meetings, including Microsoft Teams, Cisco, Zoom, and other video conferencing platforms/equipment
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Outstanding communication and customer service skills
Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environments
Additionally
Candidates must live in relatively close proximity to our offices at Bay & Queen’s Quay and Queen’s Quay and York Street.
While this position will generally be Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, you will, at times, be required to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
