The dictionary defines contingency as:
A circumstance dependent upon what may happen.
Hmmm. This is not quite as clear as I expect from Mr. Webster. However, to apply the idea to recruitment it can be used to explain a Contingency Search as:
A search undertaken to fill an open Job Order, where the recruitment firm will be paid (the circumstance), upon placement of a candidate (what may happen).

This is the simplest form of the recruiter/client relationship. It is most useful for common placements where one goal of the client company is to avoid floods of resumes. As this type of search is based on mutual trust between recruiter and client, it is undertaken only where there is an established business relationship.

With Retainer and Contingency Services we are equally concerned with building effective relationships with our clients. By devoting attention not only to the skills required for a position, but also to the chemistry between a candidate and client, we have achieved an impressive track record of long term placements within a wide variety of companies.

Check out our Press Releases. You'll see that we mean business.

WE GUARANTEE IT

Our company is dedicated to delivering superior customer service and we back that commitment up by providing clients with a guarantee period for each placement.

If a placed candidate leaves a client's employ or is released for cause during the guarantee period we will provide replacement candidates for the position, at no additional fee. Some conditions apply
